Maintenance Management

With the promoters' industrial and consulting experience and practical knowledge of productivity improvement methodology like Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), the company has developed a unique proprietary software called Voyager 2000 for Plant Engineering and Maintenance Management. Benefits of implementing this software include reduced plant downtime, improvement in capacity utilisation and longer life of equipment.

The software is tested and proven with many implementations in various industries. One of the largest implementations is for Syngenta at Goa with more than 3000 equipment being monitored using the software. Voyager 2000 has made a significant contribution to the successful implementation of productivity improvement initiatives there as well as at other organisations including Bayer, Castrol, Lupin Chemicals, Eicher Group, Mafatlal Group etc.

Voyager 2000 is a comprehensive state-of-art software which can be effectively used for Enterprise Maintenance Management for all manufacturing locations. The software serves as a tool for planning and monitoring of maintenance-related activities of all factories from a central location. Spare parts procurement and maintenance cost can be monitored centrally on a real-time basis. At the factory, the system helps to improve the efficiency of maintenance activities with standardisation of maintenance procedures.

Material Management

Material Manager 2000 offers complete materials management and inventory control functionality for multiple locations and multiple stores. The software provides a unique material codification facility to define material codes in a user-friendly manner. The software also allows existing codes to be easily imported into the system. In case of multiple production facilities, the same codes can be used across various plant locations to aid in standardisation.

Material Manager 2000 provides comprehensive functionality including automatic indenting based on Re-Order Level (ROL), enquiry generation, quotation follow-up, bid tabulation, budget sanction procedures, purchase order generation, material receipt, inspection and material issue.

Material Manager 2000 provides exhaustive user-configurable reports including : Material catalogue, Quantity of stocks in hand, on order, in transport etc., Month-wise consumption pattern, Total stock-value held, Year-to-date orders, receipts, issues, consumption and balance, Monthly, Quarterly, Daily orders, receipts, issues, consumption and balance, ABC / FSN analysis, Vendor Rating, Lead time analysis, Pending indents and purchase orders, Exception reports, Vendor master data and many others.

Human Resources Management

This software maintains a record of employee details including qualifications, experience, special skills, medical records, salary, perks, years in present employment, transfers between branch offices etc. The software performs tasks such as keeping a record of employee loans, leave record etc. and calculates net monthly salary after adjustment of income tax, provident fund etc. The software also has a recruitment module, which can administer and score on-line tests. Various MIS reports are generated to help the management in HR administration.

Hospital Management

The software provides the following functionality :

  1. Patient Admission, Discharge and Transfer
    A unique Patient Registration No. (PRN) is assigned to each patient at the time of admission. Next time that a patient comes to the hospital, his medical history can be retrieved at the press of a button. The system provides a facility to check the availability of beds in a particular ward. Transfer of a patient from one bed to another is also recorded. At the time of discharge, a bill is prepared for each patient.

  2. Consultant Appointments Scheduling
    Patients can fix up an appointment to see the consultants attached to the hospital.

  3. Medical Records
    Complete medical records are maintained for each patient. Space required in the case of electronic storage is much less.

  4. Ward, Room and Bed Reservation
    A record is kept of current status of beds. Patients can be assigned to beds based on their availability.

  5. Operation Theater Scheduling
    Based on availability, the operation theater can be booked for operations. A record is maintained for operations conducted and operation report can be printed out.

Insurance Management

The software includes the following modules :

  1. Campaign Management.
    This module incorporates telemarketing, generation of quotation, issue of hold cover and issue of policy. The prospect database can be imported into the system. Thereafter, the system keeps track of persons to be called and collects information on the prospect such as policies held and expiry dates thereof. A quotation is generated online questionnaire based on answers given by the prospect. These questions are soft-coded and can be changed by the user. This also helps to determine the risk profile of the prospect. In case the prospect agrees to the proposal, then a hold cover (a temporary policy) can be issued immediately. In case the policy serial numbers are available, the agent can print and send the insurance policy.

  2. Customer Relationship Management
    This module maintains the complete details and history of the prospect / customer including information on date of policy lapse, current policy is from which company, claims lodged etc. The software provides the customer management executive with all information necessary to deal with a customer's queries / requirements.

  3. Claims Management
    This module enables the customer management executive to provide prompt service in case of claims being lodged by the customer. This module also provides data, which can be mined to spot any systematic frauds.

  4. Risk Management
    This module provides the following functionality :
    • Customer profiling based on known risk factors and past experience of the company.
    • Agency risk profiling is done to eliminate possible collusion with customer or conflict of interest.
    • Policy risk profile in view of any loopholes in the policy.


  5. Process Management
    Processes and best practices are standardised across all agencies globally.
    Continuous and real-time feedback is available for any deviation from standard operating procedure.

  6. Agency Management
    Ensure loyalty by making the agency dependent on the system owned and run (hosted) by the principal.
    Keep tabs on daily activities.
    Identify stars, workhorses and problem children.

  7. Sales Management
    Cashflow actual vs. cashflow projected.
    Conversion ratios : new, renewal, competition.

  8. Business Intelligence
    Data mining can be carried out in each of the above areas to identify patterns of behavior which can then be analysed. This helps in :
    • Risk Management
      • Data is structured in terms of types of policy, agencies, regions, claim categories, customer profiles. Certain business rules need to be defined.
      • Example query : For a given policy in a given region / agency, no. of claims exceeding Rs. 25 lakhs for last 3 years where customer risk profile = "A" and claim category = "X"
    • Campaign Management
      • Agency, region, policy, prospects, customers, conversion ratio - new, renewal, competition. Sales, cash flow projected vs. actual.
